World of Warcraft Warrior Talent Spec

Here is a general introduction of Warriors’ talent spec for your reference, and you need to modify them to your personal situation accordingly.

Endgame DPS
It is currently accepted that Fury is about the only spec viable for endgame DPS. I’m not going to get into an Arms vs. Fury argument here, but to me Arms DPS died the day that Windfury Totem changed to a +haste bonus and not a chance on hit for an extra attack. That freebie instant attack was the bread and butter of a raiding Arms warrior and without it their DPS has extremely suffered.

The current standard for a raiding DPS warrior is 18/53/0 Fury. Essentially you’re grabbing the first few tiers of goodies from Arms like Impale and Two-handed Weapon Specialization, while leaving plenty of points to pick up all of the required Fury goodness.

Fury is also the recommended leveling spec for warriors as you can generate a much steadier flow of rage for taking down mobs at a faster pace than Arms.

PvP
While Fury is the choice for PvE, Arms is by far the choice for competitive PvP warriors. The two cookie cutter Arms PvP specs most often used by warriors are 57/14/0 or 60/11/0. With both builds, you may choose to allocate talent points to Improved Hamstring and in the 57/14 build, you may choose to put points into Tactical Mastery. A TankSpot guide also recommended that you go axe spec unless your mace proc will put you at 100% armor ignored.

Tanking
Back in the old days, warriors came to raids for pretty much the sole purpose of tanking. Plate DPS armor and Two-handed weapons were pretty much there for the warriors and paladins as a gift to play around in PvP with for being thrown into the always tank/always heal role. Warriors are still probably the best overall tank for endgame raids thanks to their plethora of damage mitigation abilities, and you can expect to have at least one per raid.

The great thing about the Protection tree is that you can pretty much do whatever you like to be an effective tank. You will probably have to adjust your spec depending on the instance or bosses you will be fighting. If you’re primarily raid tanking, you might try something like 12/3/52 and skip out on some of the less useful raid abilities like Concussive blow while maximizing the damage and threat per second you can pump out. However, if you'll be in a 5-man heroic instance where it is imperative to have as much crowd control as possible you may want to pick up some of the group saving abilities like Concussive blow and Vigilance.
