Leveling a shadow Priest in World of Warcraft is not a hard task for those of you who want to try to do it. There are some simple ways to help you level a shadow Priest in the game smoothly. Now let's take a look at these simple ways.
The first way is that if you have chosen to level your Priest as quickly as possible, you need to put talent points in the shadow tree. It is the fastest way to kill your mobs. If you're just starting out and don't have a buddy online with you when you are then you're going to be soloing your way to 70. A shadow Priest's progression in World of Warcraft is about damage: to deal as much as possible in the least amount of time with very little down time. Down time meaning the time you spend recharging health and mana.
The shadow Priest was one of the easiest classes to level. Level 1-39 will be slow so stay in a zone until you have exhausted all of the solo-able quests. Shadow form at level 40, it gets easier to kill and hopefully you'll have saved up enough cash to buy your riding skill and a mount. You can pick up your gathering professions. If leveling up a crafting profession, Alchemy, Enchanting or Tailoring along with one gathering profession you choose. Spirit is your most important attributes. The more you've the more mana you will regain. Intellect is the second important attributes. Your quest rewards should do you well until you have reached a level where gear is going to be useful, and that level is 70. When Wrath of the Lich King comes out that level will be 80.
The second way is the shadow tree: first 5 points should go into Spirit Tap. You don't need to worry about Shadow Affinity or Improved Fade. Improved Psychic Scream is only useful if you're consistently pulling more than 2 mobs at a time. Psychic Scream is your get away vehicle. Only use it if you're overwhelmed. Shadow Resilience is useful if you're going to PvP in BGs. Since this is focused on leveling and no leveling takes place in PvP then it means Shadow Resilience is useless. Then, place points in talents that will enhance the damage spells and reduce the cool down time. Also, don't forget to place 5 points in Blackout.
The last way is to try getting into a pattern of dealing with your mobs. You can start with Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Pain, Mind Flay and Shield. You can also pace yourself as you go from one mob to another; in this way, you're giving your spirit a chance to regenerate mana. More spells will become available so add them to your repertoire of destroying your targets. You should do your best to not die. Death wastes your time and you're not gaining experience or making money. One target at a time, it is the most efficient way to gain experience. Using those potions, elixirs and scrolls when you find them, there is no point in saving them for a rainy day.
